Strengthening Relations - September 2006

Jacqui Welham FIIRSM, IIRSM Board of Governors, and Zoe Kavadas, IIRSM Membership Manager, met with Teresa Budworth, newly appointed Chief Executive of NEBOSH in September.  Their discussion centered on identifying new ways to strengthen the relationship between the two organisations in light of an existing Memorandum of Understanding agreed four years ago.  Most notably, the agreement paved the way for IIRSM to offer holders of the NEBOSH General Certificate membership at Associate level (AIIRSM) in order to enhance their development and be recognised by a professional body.  This has agreement have been extended to also include the International certificate.

IIRSM and NEBOSH continue to recognise the benefit of working closely to promote awareness of both organisations, with the ultimate aim of enhancing health and safety in the workplace.  We are pleased that Jacqui Welham is now a member of the NEBOSH Advisory Committee and attended the AGM on 5 September.
