IISSM Visit IIRSM - October 2006

Julie Silvester, IIRSM’s Chief Executive was pleased to meet Mr Sinha, Executive Chairman of the International Institute of Security and Safety Management (IISSM) based in India and Raj Lakha MIIRSM from Safety Solutions UK Ltd on 12 October.

The two organisations share more than just a similar name, as both have individual members who work in safety and Raj himself is a member of both as well as being the International Coordinator of the Indian Institute.

Mr Sinha advised us of the IISSM’s conference in New Delhi on 21-23 November.  They are expecting around 300 delegates and would encourage our members in India to attend (for further details please see the link on our web-site).

Mr Sinha also explained how, in India, the title “security” inherently encompasses loss control and risk management perhaps somewhat more than it traditionally does in the UK.

IIRSM and IISSM will certainly be keeping in touch with each other to look for areas of mutual benefit to both organisations, in the meantime, we wish them a successful conference.
